Merry Christmas Eve!  I just wanted to pop in and wish you and your family a Merry Christmas.  I'm out running some last minute errands (#procrastinator) and then looking forward to some family time this evening.  I'm very close with my family so I love any excuse to spend a few days with them.  We always spend a quiet night in having dinner on Christmas Eve and opening one present before opening the rest on Christmas Day.

I hope you had a great weekend!  I'm so excited, but also can't quite believe that it is Christmas week.  I still have a few things to pick up before the big day, but I'm definitely looking forward to a little rest, relaxation and family time.  

I'm all about remixing pieces in my closet and keeping everything to a reasonable cost per wear (the original cost of the item divided by the number of times you wear an item).  On Friday, I shared some of my picks for NYE outfits.  I'm always looking for ways to get more wears out everything in my closet, including my party dresses.  I last wore this dress here with my tuxedo blazer and decided to dress it down for a dinner with the family by layering it over a turtleneck and adding my trusty denim jacket which makes any outfit slightly more casual but still pulled together.

I know most of us (except the #procrastinators (i.e. me)) have finished their Christmas shopping, but I wanted to share one last sale.  We all know how much I love Bauble Bar and I'm very excited they started their sale before Christmas.  I've got my eye on these earrings, this necklace, and this cute pouch to store everything.  Shop the sale here.

Happy Friday!!  Today is my last day of work for the year and I'm looking forward to a little time with family and friends to relax, recharge and reflect of the past year while making plans for next year. 

I know I'm jumping ahead, but NYE is a pretty big holiday for my friends and myself.  My high school friends and I have spent the past 16 NYE together and this year we will be in DC to bring in the New Year.  We've done everything from celebrating in our parents basements in high school to fancy all-inclusive parties at a hotel.  For us, it really doesn't matter what we do as long as we are together.  However, I never turn down a chance to dress up.  I've pulled together three outfit options for a glam NYE (or any remaining holiday parties).  Which is your favorite?

I hope you had a great weekend!  Mine was relatively low key other than my friend's dessert party.  I'm not much of a baker so it is great having friends who love to bake.  My friend made 10 different kinds of desserts, including mini pumpkin scones which were amazing!  I had to make a little scone doggie bag, which I enjoyed while watching The Wire today.  I missed it when it was first on, but it is such a well-written show!

I know I was a little slow on the plaid trend when it first started, but plaid has become this season's chambray for me.  In fact, I can't remember the last time I wore my chambray shirt.  Add in my favorite distressed denim jeans and grey suede boots, and this is the perfect weekend outfit.

Happy Friday!  I hope you had a great week!  It is so hard to believe that Christmas is less than 2 weeks away.  One of my favorites parts of the holidays is spending time with family and friends.  This weekend one of my friends is throwing a casual holiday dessert party (the diet starts in January...).  I've never been to a dessert party, but as someone who has a huge sweet tooth, I can't wait!  While I love getting dressed up for holiday parties (see here), it is also nice to be a little more casual sometimes which is why I'm going to wear this (or something like this) to her party.  I didn't realize I was wearing this jacket with my fancy holiday party outfit also, but it is such a staple around the holidays for me that I'm not surprised.  I love it here with my go-to distressed jeans and clutch that I can't seem to live without (I literally don't know what I carried before I bought this Clare V. leopard clutch....).  And thankfully these jeans are stretchy enough for all the sweets I plan to enjoy!

I hope your week is going well!  It has been quite an adjustment coming back home, especially since it is so cold here!  When it gets this cold out all I want to do is cuddle up in my bed.  Since that isn't socially acceptable, this fur vest is the next best thing.  I love a fur vest for winter since it is an easy way to dress up an outfit while wearing a super cozy, warm item that is also chic.  This one is one of the coziest I've found in a while and I will be wearing it on repeat until spring.

It hit me yesterday that Christmas is getting closer and and closer, so I've pulled together a few additional gift ideas for your (and my) female friends.  The men in my life are very prescriptive about what they want which works perfectly for me, but I'm still trying to figure out what to get the ladies in my life.

Happy Monday!  I hope you had a great weekend!  I'm sorry for the lack of posts last week, but I decided it was best for me to take a break and come back fully refreshed for work and the blog.  A week on the beach is exactly what the doctor ordered!  Let's just say that the biggest decision every day was what beach to go to.  I will hopefully have a vacation recap post up soon, but I'm already trying to figure out how I can get back to St. Martin and Anguilla ASAP!

Now, onto the clothes.  Living in Atlanta, I'm pretty lucky that I can wear most of my wardrobe year-round.  When the temperatures dipped (or dipped for Atlanta), I immediately reached for my tights and favorite stripe sweater to winterize my favorite leather skirt.  You know I'm cold when I have tights on!  With the addition of a little leopard, this variation of my fail-proof black and white combo is ready for work (and after work without the jacket).  

On a side (random) note, am I the only one who finds heels less comfortable with tights?
