Happy Friday!!  I hope you have fun plans for the weekend!  I'm doing a staycation, which I'm so excited about.  I'm looking forward to catching up on some good books, time with friends, and a little pampering.

This week has totally emphasized the importance of picking pieces that can easily transition from day to night as I've had events 3 nights after work.  No one wants to change in their car (been there, done that), change at work and get lots of questions from co-workers (no thanks...), or find another place to change (locker room at the gym anyone?).

When I know I have an event after work, I generally wear a skirt or dress to work as I find them easier to transition.  I also have a few other key tricks to transition my look.

1. Switch your daytime tote for a  chic, smaller night version, like this leopard clutch.  I don't know about you, but the purse I carry to work has so much crap in it that it doesn't really work for after work events.

2.  Change into a dressier pair of shoes.  Shoes generally make the outfit for me and I never turn down an opportunity to wear those shoes that aren't quite office appropriate!

3.  Amp up the jewelry.  I've started wearing my arm party everyday to work, but I will usually add a pair of statement earrings or a statement necklace.

4. Freshen your makeup.  For me, this is generally just applying a little more lipstick as I'm usually running late and don't have time to do anything else.

Do you guys have any other day to night tips?

I hope you have a great weekend!  I'm taking Monday off so I will return on Wednesday with my regular posting.

Another Take on Double Denim

Shirt: Old Navy
Jeans: Joe's Jeans
Belt: Loft, similar
Shoes: Zara, similar
Earrings: BaubleBar
Ring: BaubleBar
Purse: Proenza Schouler via TJ Maxx(!!)

I hope you are having a great week!   This week has been such a whirlwind and it's only Wednesday.  On Monday, I went to an amazing fashion show hosted by the store Jeffrey New York.  I had so much fun and the fashion was beautiful but I didn't take enough pictures to make a blog post (#badblogger - I promise I'm working on it!).  Last night, I had my first blogger date with the wonderful Audrey from Lulu Linden.  She is so sweet and I can't wait to hang out with her again!

White jeans are one of my summer staples, so it was only natural to pair them with my favorite (only) chambray shirt for a summer version of denim-on-denim.  I loved the result so much that this outfit might continue to make appearances after Labor Day.  To complete the outfit, I added my new bag which I found on the clearance rack at TJ Maxx!!  Actually, that is a little misleading as I stalked visited the bag everyday until it was finally marked down.  I couldn't believe my luck and I've probably used all of my shopping karma for the rest of year.  Oh, well this bag is worth it!

Do you guys wear your white jeans after Labor Day or do you follow the rule of no white after Labor Day?

I'm so excited that Alison from Get Your Pretty On has featured this look as one her favorites from this month.  Check it out here!

Thanks so much for reading and have a great day!

Green Maxi Dress

Dress: Fab'rik, similar
Clutch: Clare V.
Sandals: Zara, similar
Earrings: BaubleBar
Bracelets: BaubleBar(here, similar), C. Wonder, sold out

I hope you had a great weekend!  I went to the Boyz II Men and En Vogue concert on Friday and they were both amazing!  My friends and I may or may not be planning a trip to Vegas to see their show and the Brittney Spears show....  I'm excited as this is a short week for me since I'm taking Friday off for a little staycation.  Spa day here I come!

This dress was is an old favorite from one of my go-to-boutiques, Fab'rik.  I love the color and the pleated detailing on the top is so beautiful.  On Saturday, I attempted to wear this to a fashion show, featuring up and coming designers.  I say attempted since I was a little too fashionably late, so I missed the first half of the show.  Rather than wait for 40 minutes for the second half of the show to start, I grabbed a list of the featured designers to check out later and headed to a friends' BBQ instead.  I was slightly overdressed, but I had a great time catching up with some friends I hadn't seen in a while.

Have a great day!

Happy Friday!  I'm so excited that I'm going to the Boyz II Men and En Vogue concert tonight!!

I'm going to keep it short today except to profess my love of this monochromatic look on top.  I love to match the color of my top and my blazer to create a clean look.  To me, it is simple, chic, and polished.

What are you up to this weekend?  I hope you have a good weekend!

I hope your week is going well!

Last weekend I hit up Ann Taylor's Friends and Family sale, and picked up this shirt which I've fallen in love with.  I think I've worn it at least 3 times in the past week...  We all know how much I love anything with leather (vegan or otherwise) and the vegan leather sleeves on this top take this shirt from basic to outfit maker.  I couldn't pass it up, especially at 40% off!  Since it will be warm here for a while, I know I will get a lot (more) wear out of it, but I'm looking forward to trying to transitioning it into fall and winter as well.

Did you guys pick up anything at the Ann Taylor Friends and Family sale?

Have a great day!

T-shirt: Target

Bracelets: BaubleBar
Shoes: Stuart Weitzman, similar

I hope you had a great weekend!

Like most people, I'm always looking for ways to stretch my clothing budget.  I'm becoming better at remixing the pieces in my closet (most of these pieces have been on the blog before).  I've worn these sandals and this purse so many times this summer.  I know you are probably sick of this purse!  When I'm not remixing, I'm looking for versatile (not too expensive except for shoes) ways to update an outfit and this vest is the perfect piece to update most outfits.

I'm a very happy camper anytime I can shop with free money aka a gift card.  Am I the only one who still gets gift cards as a gift?  Some are awesome (yes to my Saks gift card from my corporate credit card points!) and some not so much (I'm not naming any names here...).  I wanted to share a website that I've recently come across, Raise.com, which allows you to sell unwanted gift cards or buy gift cards at a discount.  I'm looking forward to unloading some of those unnamed gift-cards for cash.  I hate it when I have a gift card to store I don't shop at sitting in my wallet taunting me.  At last check, discounted gift cards were available for most retailers featured today. You can learn more about buying and selling gift cards at Raise.com.

What's the best gift card you've received?

What I Want August

1 (50% off!)/2/3/4/5/6/7/8

Happy Friday!!  What are you guys up to this weekend?  I'm celebrating my good friend's birthday and catching up some friends I haven't seen in a long time.

I used to love back-to-school shopping to see what the trends for the coming year would be.  Now that I'm no longer in school, I still love fall fashion with the cozy sweaters, great boots, and luxurious fabrics.  Fortunately or unfortunately, the weather will still be warm hot here in Atlanta for a while, so I'm looking for on-trend pieces that I can wear now, but will seamlessly transition to fall.

Athletic inspired clothing is a big trend for fall and I love this quilted baseball jacket for cool fall evenings.  It will be great layered over a t-shirt now and perfect with a sweater and boots later.

Gray is another trend that I'm ready to embrace.  Light gray doesn't look great on me, so a pair of gray jeans is the perfect way to embrace this trend.  I don't like to wear black denim in the summer, so gray is a great compromise which will look fabulous in fall as well.

Finally, leather is another trend that I'm so excited about.  I'm just warning you guys that you will be sick of all of the leather pieces that I want for fall.  I may or may not have already purchased this Banana Republic pleated leather skirt after finding out that it isn't included in the Friends and Family this weekend.  It is so soft and flattering.  I highly recommend it and can't wait to wear it!

What pieces/trends are you excited about?  Are you ready for fall fashion?

Have a great weekend!

I hope your week is going well!  I'm suffering from a little bit of writer's block so I'm going to keep this short.

I know I've professed my love of this white blazer many times, but it is one of the best pieces I've invested in.  It is so easy to toss it on to add instant polish to any outfit.  I recently layered it over jeans and a tank top for a night out.  I added my favorite leopard clutch and leg-lengthening nude heels for a great date outfit.  Now if only the night was as good as the outfit, but that is a story for another day....

Have a great day!

I'm so excited to be featured at the spotlight look at Elle and Jacqueline's link up!  Check it out here!

J. Crew Favorites

Top: J. Crew, last seen here
Shorts: J. Crew, similar (on sale!)
Sandals: Stuart Weitzman
Purse: Old Navy
Bracelet: BaubleBar, similar
Earrings: Boutique Find

I hope you had a great weekend!  Mine was filled with apartment hunting, brunching with friends, and several episodes of Breaking Bad.  I know I'm late to the party (several years late...), but I just finished the first season and can't wait to see what happens next!

Pink is one of my favorite colors and pink and blue is one of my favorite color combinations (last seen here).  It has gotten to the point where I'm not sure I can allow myself to buy another pink item, but these pink shorts are one of my summer staples.  J. Crew always has such fun printed shorts and this pair is no exception.  I dressed them up with this beautiful blue top with sheer detailing and statement gladiator sandals.  I'm trying to get at least one last wear out of all of my favorite summer pieces before summer is over.  How did it go by so quickly?!

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great day!
