I hope you had a great weekend!  And cheers to the fact that it is a short week!

I was very resistant to the adult romper trend.  We don't need to see pictures of the last romper I wore several years ago, but let's just say it was for a Vegas-esque trip and really only appropriate for Vegas/Miami type locales.  I was convinced that rompers couldn't be refined.

Enter this Zara romper, which I tried on on a whim as I was killing a little time in the mall (the most dangerous place to kill time!)  The fit is very refined, but sexy cutout back gives it a little edge and sex appeal for a perfect date night outfit.  Consider me a convert!

Thanks for reading and have a great day!

Printed Maxi Dress

Dress: Old Navy
Clutch: Asos, old, love this one and this one
Earrings: BaubleBar, old
Bracelet: Forever 21, available in store
Sandals: Matt Bernson, old

I know it seems like I'm on an Old Navy kick, but I feel like I'm rediscovering them.  I never used to go in, but now that there is one close to my office, I find myself popping in more frequently.  The bright colors in this dress caught my eye and any maxi that is short enough for me to wear flats with is great in my book.  I know you've probably seen this dress on a few other bloggers, but I loved it too much not to get it.

On summer weekends, I just want a dress that can go from the pool or a casual brunch to dinner or drinks out with a simple change of accessories.  By amping up the jewelry and adding a clutch, this dress is now ready for a fun night out!

Thanks for reading and have a great weekend!

Top: Zara, not online, but probably still available in store
Pants: J. Crew (on sale!)
Purse: Old Navy
Shoes: Target
Bracelets: Bauble Bar (here, here)

I hope your week is going well!  Some of you may recognize these pants from my fitting room picture a few weeks ago when I was deciding whether or not to get them.  I got them and I'm so glad I did. I love the colors and they are so comfortable!  I don't wear a lot of print so this is a big step outside my comfort zone.

I toned the pants down with this white top from Zara and paired them with my new favorite purse.  I think I've mentioned before that I like try a trend cheaply to ensure it is practical for me before investing in a more expensive piece.  I've seen a lot of the bucket bags around and really like them on other people, but wasn't sure how practical it would be for me.  I saw a few other bloggers with this Old Navy bag and decided to give it a shot.  I love this bag!  It was less than $35 (but doesn't look cheap) and is the perfect summer bag!  I actually thinking about getting another color...  As for the bucket bag trend, I just don't carry enough on a daily basis to fill it.  I actually had to stuff a scarf in it for these pictures so the bag didn't look empty!  For those of you who are looking for an inexpensive bucket bag, I highly recommend this one!

Have a great day!

I hope you guys had a great weekend!  I had a busy but fun weekend with my cousin's wedding on Saturday and my friend's breast cancer awareness fundraiser on Sunday.  Her foundation, Kimberly D. Burton Foundation, hosts a Life in Pink Stilettos luncheon every year to raise money for breast cancer awareness and prevention.  It is always a very informative and enjoyable event for a cause that is very close to my heart as my mother is a breast cancer survivor.  In keeping with the theme, I wore a pink dress and paired it with blue accents, including one my favorite clutches. This is another dress I had made in Vietnam (a great deal at much less than $100) and while it is a little lower than what I would normally wear, I love the shape of this dress.

Have a great day!

Happy Friday!!  I hope you guys have great weekend plans!

I'm keeping it short today.  I've been very into white on white recently, so you might be seeing a lot of this coming to the blog...   Just giving you a little advance warning.  I had this jacket made in Vietnam and it was such a great deal, especially when I start think about cost per wear.  Everything I had made was so reasonably priced and is great quality.  I need to go back to have more made!

I haven't stopped wearing this jacket since I got back.  I love how clean white on white looks and decided to keep everything else in this outfit very classic and clean.  This might be my new go to look!

Thanks so much for reading!  Have a great weekend!

I hope your week is going well!  I know I'm so behind on posting any pictures from Vietnam.  I'm still trying to go through all of my pictures.  This was my first big trip with my DSLR and I went a little snap happy.

One of the cities we visited in Vietnam was Hoi An, a small, quaint beach town with a booming tailoring industry.  I knew from the time we booked our trip that I wanted to have a few things made and got some great recommendations.  I ended up selecting A. Dong, which wasn't the cheapest place in town, but but had some of the best reviews.  However this dress ended up being the same price as the original Asos dress!

I only intended to have two pieces made, but once I started browsing their Pinterest inspiration board, with thousands of amazing pins, I knew I was in trouble.  I restrained myself from going too overboard and only ordered 2 blazers and 2 dress.

This dress was inspired by a Asos dress that I loved, but only came in a racer back version.  I knew that the alternations I would have to do would cost more than the Asos version so I decided to make my own. I couldn't be happier with the results!  I love all the pieces and have been wearing this and one of the blazers non-stop!  I'm already trying to figure out how and when I can get back to have more pieces made!

By the way, I promise I know how to iron!  I didn't realize how wrinkled this dress was until I saw these pictures!

Dressing up T-shirt and Jeans

Dress (worn as a vest): BB Dakota, last seen here
Shoes: Kurt Geiger
Bracelets: Bauble Bar (here, here), C. Wonder
Clutch: Zara, old

I hope you guys had a great weekend!  Mine was filled with lots of World Cup games and a great dinner with my dad for Father's Day.

You may recognize this vest from when I wore it to the Aveda Fashion Show (here).  While I love it as a dress, it isn't really practical for my real life.  Since I work in a very creative, fashion-forward environment now (a far cry from the conservative business casual attire I wore as a strategy consultant...), I decided to make this tuxedo dress more casual by layering it over a t-shirt and my favorite jeans.  I know I've worn these jeans often on the blog, but they are so comfortable and I love the distressing.  I can't recommend them enough.  My red lip and fun heels were the perfect finishing touches.  Whenever I wear these shoes, someone always comments on how the heel could be used as a weapon...

By the way, I didn't carry this bag to work, but my big laptop bag just didn't go as well in the picture!

Have a great day!

Free Fab'rik Style

Dress: Fab'rik (not on their website yet)
Clutch: Asos
Sandals: Target
Bracelet: Bauble Bar (here, here)

Last Thursday I had the opportunity to attend the Free Fab'rik Fashion Show, which was a great event.  Free Fab'rik is an organization in Atlanta that raises money through clothing drives and sales at their local boutique to help women get back on their feet though vocational training programs and mentorship.  The annual fashion show is one of their biggest fundraisers.  I think it is such a great mission and I'm always happy help organize a group for the fashion show.

I wore a dress to the fashion show that I have already worn on the blog (here), but every year at the show I always end up buying clothing or jewelry from the new collection previewed at the show (It's for a good cause :) ...).  I was immediately intrigued by this dress when I saw it on the rack and decided to take a chance on it, cutouts and all.  (Did I mention that everything in the boutique is under $100, except for the denim?!).  The dress originally had pink straps which threw me off a little, but once I cut them off, I realized I love this dress and it is perfect for summer.  You might see this on repeat! Don't you love it when something you're on the fence about ends up being one of your favorite pieces?

Don't forget, today is the last day to enter the Francesca's giveaway!  Enter it here.

Dressy Shorts + $230 Francesca's Giveaway

Sweater: J. Crew (runs large)
Shorts: J. Crew (on sale!)
Necklace: Bauble Bar, old
Sandals: Stuart Weitzman
Bracelets: Bauble Bar (here, here, similar)

I hope your week is going well!  From the moment I saw this sweater in the J. Crew catalog a few months ago, I've been eagerly checking the new arrivals sections waiting for it to pop up!  I hate paying full price for most things, but I quickly bought it as soon as it hit stores.  It looks so expensive and is a great piece to dress up any summer outfit (and these shoes don't hurt either...), but it also looks great with white jeans.  I'm trying to wait and see if the other colors make it to the sale but I might cave and pick up another color...

Do you ever buy multiples of items you love?  I'm so guilty of it!

P.S. Have you entered the Francesca's giveaway?  Sorry, but it is only open to continental U.S. citizens.

$230 Francesca's Collection Giveaway!
The Giveaway goes live on Monday, June 9 at 12:00 am PST and ends Sunday, June 15 at 12:00 pm PST. Winner will be announced Monday, June 16
