I hope everyone had a great weekend!  I had a fun time catching up with friends on a pub crawl one day and at a supper club brunch on Sunday.  I meant to take pictures of the supper club brunch for the blog, but somehow those intentions got lost in my bottomless mimosa!  I guess I will have to go back :)

When I was at Old Navy picking up my chambray shirt (which I've now worn to death) I saw this cute anchor shirt which I couldn't resist for $25!  While I can't wait to wear it with white jeans and cutoffs in the summer, I decided to break it out this weekend, with my favorite Target skirt and my Milly sweater (minus the leather collar and cuffs).

I also added my new cheeky clutch from Zara. I saw it as I was returning an item and couldn't leave the store without it (story of my life...).  I couldn't find a link to it online, but I bought it last week so it should still be in store.  It is a great pick-me-up piece as I can't help but smile when I read the imprint.  I might need to make it my new motto!

What I Want... For Spring

Happy Friday!!  I know I'm not the only one ready for warmer temperatures and spring (or the weekend!), so I decided to pull together a list of some of the things I'm craving for spring.  As I've mentioned before, these list are dangerous for my wallet and I've already craved on these great BaubleBar earrings, which are on their way!

Shoes are obviously my weakness, so I of course started with the new shoes I hoping to get (on sale!).  I've already said how much I love these Stuart Weitzman gladiators and two Schutz sandals (here and here) in previous posts, but I'm also ready to give my feet a little bit of a break from the heels with these adorable leopard sneakers.  The print is smaller than some of the other leopard sneakers I've seen and they will be perfect with shorts, casual skirts, jeans, anything!

As you can see, my mind has already well on the way to summer and the beach, with these jean cutoffs and printed shorts.  Thankfully my office has summer Fridays, so hopefully I will be able to sneak away for a weekend or two at the beach.  I got into shorts last summer with a really cute printed pair from J. Crew (here), and it is time to add to the collection (of 1).  If I were more skilled, I would make my own pair of cutoffs, but my scissors, sewing and I don't really go together, so Rag & Bone is here to the rescue.

The last thing I'm trying to incorporate for spring/summer is color.  I currently wear a lot of black and white, but this pink top might be a good way to get out of my black and white comfort zone.  Baby steps, I guess...

Monochromatic Blue

I initially was going to share my spring wish list and the trends I'm most excited for for spring, but work got the better part of me today and it was just easier to share one of my new favorite outfits.  


I've wanted to try a monochromatic look for a while now as I've slowly been moving away from black and white (very slowly...).  I picked up this top and skirt a few weeks ago at the end of season sale at Bloomingdales and have been patiently waiting for it to warm up enough to wear them.  It may not really be warm enough yet, but I'm sick of winter, so I decided to bring them out.

Blue is growing on me as I've always been more of a pink person, but I loved the lace and peplum of this top and the beautiful color of this skirt.  The different textures break up the color nicely.  I paired them with my favorite pumps (I didn't show the back detail, but it is my favorite part of these shoes!) and my new favorite Bauble Bar necklace, which I get so many compliments on!  I added a jacket to make it slightly more work appropriate (my office is very casual and very fashion-forward) and if I got cold during the day (which always happens!).  I can't wait for it to get warmer to wear this outfit without the jacket.

I hope you guys had a great weekend!  It was gorgeous here.  Unfortunately, I wasn't able to enjoy it on Saturday since I spent seven hours trying to get the green out of my hair from a dye job gone wrong...  I think I learned more about corrective color than I've every wanted to know.  The green is gone, but I have to go back next weekend to finish the color.  I'm leaving color to the experts from now on.

Anyway, I'm living in my Old Navy chambray shirt.  I can't believe it took me so long to pick one up, but I find myself always reaching for it since it goes with everything!!  I'm actually wearing a version of this as I'm typing this but I switched out the earrings for a necklace.  You can check it out on my Instagram feed.

This is one of my favorite outfits, as it combines my new favorite shirt and my favorite jeans.  These Rag & Bone jeans, the High-Rise Skinny, are so flattering and I swear make my legs look so thin! I hope to pick up another pair during Saks Friends and Family next month (I think).  I'm now a convert to the modified Texas tuxedo and can't wait to share some of the other ways I'm wearing this shirt.  I hope your week is off to a great start!

TGIF!!  I feel like I say that every week, but I really mean it this week.  It has been such a crazy week at work that I actually fell asleep on the couch at 9pm yesterday  and woke up in the middle of the night in my work clothes.  Has that every happened to you?!  

I'm keeping it short today, but this was my goodbye to winter outfit.  Hopefully, I'm not jinxing myself, but I layered this oxford (seen in white here) and tank together with my favorite leather skort from Zara (I seriously love this skort (last seen here) as I have it in other fabrics as well!) as one of my final winter outfits before the (supposed) warm up this week.  Even though our winter was nothing compared to the one up north,  I'm so over it and ready for fun sundresses, sandals, and drinks on the patio.  Lol, maybe I'm just ready for the weekend...

Go-to Work Outfit: A Great Dress

Do you ever have those days where you just need a quick, easy outfit to get you out the door in the morning?  An outfit you know you will look and feel great in, but is easy to pull together. My go to work outfit is a great dress and heels (layered over a turtleneck in the winter).  There is something instantly polished about a great dress and it is so much easier than trying to pull separates together.  

Milly is one of my go-to designers for dresses.  Every since I could afford it, I've always bought one of her dresses every year to update my wardrobe (preferably on sale!).  I love the mixed pattern of this dress, the very feminine fit, and the pockets!  The dress flatters my body so well.  I layered it over a turtleneck here to extend the wearability during the last gasp of winter this past week, but look forward to wearing it without the turtleneck soon (bye bye winter!)

If you see me in this dress, chances are I overslept or couldn't decide what to wear that morning!

Happy St. Patty's Day!

In honor of St. Patty's Day, I wore a little green (shocker!).  I've wanted one of the Equipment silk blouses for a while, but I'm a little bit of a klutz so a very expensive dry-clean only silk blouse wouldn't work for me.  You can imagine, I was pretty excited when I found this JNY version for $30 at a Bloomingdales sale.  I don't own a lot of green so it was a no-brainer that I would wear this for St. Patty's Day.  

I'm also very excited about my new BaubleBar earrings.  I love their necklaces, but rarely buy their earrings.  When I saw this pair for pre-order, I jumped on them and was very excited when they came last week.  The navy is perfect for summer as I try to move away from black and into lighter, more summery colors.

Happy Friday!!  I hope you had a great week.  I'm ready for the weekend and a some early St. Patrick's Day celebrations!

Sorry for the low light on the pictures.  I was racing the sun to try to capture this outfit!  I mentioned on Wednesday that I'm trying to wear all of my winter favorites one last time and this jacket is no exception.  I love this jacket and wish it was a little lighter fabric as I would wear it with an all white ensemble in spring and summer.  Unfortunately, if I wore this in a Georgia summer, I would melt!   

Back to the outfit though.  I love the contrast of the pink and black.  You may recognize this skirt from last week.  I find myself reaching for it all the time as I love the flirty shape (and the great price!).  It's sad that I won't be able to wear this jacket and this outfit for many months, but I'm excited to wear all of the fun spring outfits I've been dreaming about all winter.  Hurry up spring!

A Little Bit of Leather

I hope your week is going well!  When the temperature dipped last week, I took the opportunity to wear a few more of my winter favorites, which includes this sweater.  I first saw it on Saks and then hunted it down in my size when it went on sale.  The leather collar and cuffs are detachable so I can wear the sweater several ways, but with the leather is my favorite!  I added my staple leopard belt and fun heels to create an anything but basic black and white ensemble.  This was a great way to say bye to this sweater for the season, as I'm more than ready for some fun spring outfits!

Taking Denim Past Casual Friday

I hope everyone had a great weekend!  It was absolutely beautiful here again after a fairly cold week, so I spent as much time as possible outside hanging out with friends.  After holding out for a while, I finally took the plunge and jumped on the chambray wagon, by picking up a denim chambray shirt from Old Navy.  A lot of times, when I'm not sure about a trend or a piece, I try to buy into it cheaply to determine if I actually like it and then invest in a more expensive piece if I need it.  Hopefully this Old Navy version will hold up because I love it!

For me, most clothes have to serve a dual purpose (work and play) for me to justify them.  This shirt is surprisingly easy to style as I treat just like any other blue shirt.  I made it work appropriate by pairing with my new blazer from Loft and black pants (and of course, some state necklaces!).  I've already also worn it casually with black denim and can't wait to find more ways to wear it.  I should have bought one of these so much sooner!!

TGIF!!  Just popping in quickly to say hi to share one of my newest finds.  Target is always such a black hole for me.  I walk in for a tube of mascara and end up walking out with a bunch of other stuff.  Does this happen to other people also?!  Anyway, this skirt is one of my recent Target finds!  I love the swingy, flirty shape, which is great with flats and heels.  And did I mention that it is under $25?  Such a steal!  I can't wait to wear it all spring and summer.  If only it came in other colors....
