Happy Friday!!  I don't know about you, but I'm still a sucker for the Target collaborations.  Months before the clothes hit the store, I've already scoured the internet to find the collection and decide which pieces I want.  Then if I can stay awake, I'm online in the middle of the night to buy the items as soon as they are released (or more likely I'm in store when it opens since the sizing can be a little iffy).  I wasn't sure about the Peter Pilotto collection when I first saw since the prints are a little loud compared to what I normally wear, but certain pieces grew on me over the past few months.  This dress was the one piece I had to have so I was very excited when I found it at Target.  It was meant to be!

I love it and toughened it up slightly with my leather hoodie that I love (and got on clearance for $35!).  My work is a little more casual so the hoodie is appropriate, but it would also be great with a white blazer or a black blazer for work.

I hope your week is going well!  Just dropping in with a quick look from the weekend.  This is one of my favorite coats (which I'm sure you will be seeing a lot of over the next few months...).  I decided to pair it with my new favorite shirt, a feminine tuxedo shirt from Loft.  I may have mentioned that I hate ironing, which is why I'm glad this shirt looks great freshly pressed or slightly rumpled.  It also dresses up or down very well!  I can't wait to wear it to work, maybe slightly rumpled. :)

I hope everyone had a great weekend!  It was gorgeous this weekend, so I tried to be outside at much as possible, especially after the crappy weather a few weeks ago!  A little kickball, a nice walk outside, and brunch with friends (my first Paleo meal!) all made my idea of a great weekend.  Why is it that these weekends always fly by too quickly?!

The theme of this week's link up (tomorrow) is winter white, which I took as a perfect opportunity to break out a skirt I don't wear often enough (last seen here) and pair it with my new sweater.  I love classics with a twist, so the open back on this sweater is right up my alley.  I layered the sweater over a nude cami to still have the open back effect, but also to make it more work appropriate.    This outfit is great for winter (Atlanta winter), but is also good to transition to spring, which I hope is coming soon!

TGIF!!  I'm so ready for the weekend!  I will keep it short today.  I saw this skirt on another blogger and knew I had to have it.  It is such a statement piece.  It does run a little small though.  I got the small and I should have ordered a medium since it is a little tight and short.  Oh, well.  I loved it too much to send back.  

And how cool are these shoes?? I waited on them to go on sale and snagged them at the Net-a-Porter end of season sale.  The heel is very architectural and cool and they are very comfortable.  A great looking shoe that I can wear all day?  Sign me up!

What I Want...Weekly Cravings

These weekly cravings are one of my favorite things to pull together, but they are definitely not great for my wallet! As you can tell, I'm looking forward to spring and trying to break out of my pants rut.  This spring I want to try some of the more feminine looks coming out, like this amazing blue skirt.  I would pair it with a lighter blue top for a monochromatic look or a beautiful green one for a great color-blocking look.

This sweatshirt has my motto (Will work for shoes) and these amazing sandals are no exception.  I would rock them with great skirts or even my favorite Zara skort (last seen here).  They are definitely a departure from the pumps I normally wear, but a little fashion risk never hurt anyone :).  

I'm also furthering my Bauble Bar addiction, with this necklace and bracelet.  I have the matching ring to the bracelet, which I love, so I can't wait to get the bracelet.  Bauble Bar is always a fun, inexpensive way to update my wardrobe!

Switching up the posting schedule a little this week to participate in a trend link up on one of my favorite blogs, Walking in Memphis in High Heels.  The trend of the week is neutrals, an easy one for me since I wear so much black and white!  I found this top and jacket at one of my favorite sales (shocker, I know).  Twice a year, the boutiques around Atlanta get together and consolidate all of their sale inventory in one location for the Boutique Warehouse Sale.  

I know I've mentioned before that I needed to upgrade my coat game and I finally did.  It is hard for me to justify investing in a coat since Atlanta winters are normally so mild, but this winter changed my mind!  We all know I'm a sucker for anything with leather, but this coat is also so warm.  Of course as soon as I bought it, the weather has started to turn warm again!  Anyway, I know I will wear this for many years to come.

I also decided to give the sheer trend a try.  This top was such a good price, I figured I would make it work, but it is actually a great piece.  I put a cami under it for work (or any other time) and it looks great on its own or under a blazer.  I'm not sure I ready to go any further into the trend, but I really like this top.

I hope you had a great weekend!  I'm slightly jealous of everyone that has today off from work...  Last week was a crazy week at work, so I took it pretty easy this weekend, catching up with friends and playing a little bit of kickball.  This is my typical weekend uniform in the fall and late winter.  I bought this vest on a whim, the day after Thanksgiving, but it has become a staple in my wardrobe.  I think I say that about a lot of items, but this is the vest I reach for every weekend.  

These jeans were also a lesson in buying jeans.  It can be so frustrating to buy jeans because if they fit perfectly in store, then they will probably stretch too much once you have them home, but it they are tight in store, they are generally too small.  Do you guys also find shopping for jeans frustrating?  Anyway, the wash on these jeans is great and they fit perfectly when I first bought them, but they have now become my boyfriend jeans.  (It isn't all the jeans fault.  I lost some weight after I bought them.)  I love the looser fit, especially juxtaposed against the tighter items I wear.

Happy Friday and Valentine's Day!  I know I'm ready for the weekend after the crazy weather we had this week.  

One thing that I've mentioned before is that I'm trying to shop my closet more and find new ways to wear different items in my closet.  This Jack by BB Dakota dress is a perfect example.  When I first bought it, I thought I would only wear it for going out, but it has become surprisingly versatile for work, running around on weekends, and going out.  Since I've haven't been going out as much as I used to, I've found new ways to wear it by layering this dress over a turtleneck and a white shirt (not together though) and wearing it under as a skirt under a sweater.  I think the skirt is my favorite look.  Which is your favorite look?  What are your favorite tricks to wear an item multiple ways?

What I Want..Spring Wish Lists

Can you tell I have spring on the brain?!  I know I'm always talking about how I love a good sale, but I'm ready for some new products in store.  There are only so many times a girl can hit the sale rack before there aren't any more deals to find...  I love the fun dresses and skirts that come with spring and summer and I LOVE spring and summer footwear.  I'm not a huge boot person. 

Through my online shopping, I mean research :), I've found some great spring pieces that are very appropriate for work.  I'm obsessed with this Rachel Zoe skirt.  I would pair it with a drapey black top or turtleneck for fall and then a great black tank and heels for spring and summer.  These Stuart Weitzman sandals are so different from all of my other shoes (which is hard to say!) but I would rock them all summer with shorts and skirts.  The gold color is perfect to dress up or down.  They may only be appropriate for work on Friday, but I love them so much I don't really care!

It will probably be a while before I can wear these pieces, but that just gives me time to wait for some of them to go on sale!

As we prep for snow, it is crazy to look back to the outfit I wore on Sunday when it was 60+ degrees!  It felt like spring, so I decided to dress like it was spring.  I'm so over winter!!  When I first bought this skirt, I couldn't decide what to wear with it and I got stuck in a white t-shirt rut.  With Valentine's Day coming up, I decided to try to pair it with one of my favorite tops that I don't wear enough, and I realized I love the combo!  Don't you love it when that happens?!  I'm also pretty excited about these shoes.  I bought them after Thanksgiving and finally got the chance to wear them.  They were the best deal, marked down from $128 to $32! They are a half size too small, but at that price I'm making them work.  I always look at sale shoes around my size since you never know how they will run or if they will work.

I'm preparing to bunker down and work from home for the next few days, but fingers crossed this type of beautiful weather returns this weekend.  I hope it is better where you guys are!

I'm sure you guys have seen this Sex in the City quote all over the place as fashion week started last week.  Like many of you, I've been eagerly following along on Instagram and style.com to see the action as it happens.  I love getting inspiration from the street style and what is happening on the runway.  For me, Fashion Week is also about discovering new styles and new designers. I'm always looking to push my style at work so most of my favorites are slightly professional, work-appropriate looks.  

Marissa Webb is one of the new designers I discovered this NYFW.  You know I love a show when I pin almost every look!  Her looks were the epitome of casual elegance that would be perfect for work (and transition nicely to after-work drinks!).  You know I'm always trying to bring color into my wardrobe, so the green skirt and top are a great pop of color.  I would probably break up the pieces, but hey, baby steps! 

I also had to throw in a few beautiful dresses as I will hopefully find some excuses to wear something so pretty!

Happy Monday!  I hope everyone had a great weekend.  I laid low this weekend trying to fight off a cold that was going around the office.  However, it was so pretty today that I couldn't resist going out and trying to get a few of the Peter Pilotto pieces for Target.  I will show you my finds later next week.

I've mentioned a few times that I love the after Christmas and January sales for the best deals. I'm a sucker for a great blazer so when I saw this one in J.Crew on sale for $100, with an extra 40% off the sale price, I knew I couldn't resist. One of my best deals!  It is still available for a lucky size zero.  Otherwise, I would look in the boy's department for a similar shrunken look.

I love heels, but I've had some foot issues recently so I'm always on the look out for great flats.  I was unsure about these shoes in store (where I got them the day after Christmas, which was a total zoo!), but I'm so glad I decided to keep them.  They are so comfortable!!  I can't wait to wear them with skirts when the weather gets warmer.

Black Tie Brunch

As you may know, last Friday was my birthday, so I spent the weekend celebrating.  On Saturday my friends and I went to a black tie brunch party which is modeled after the brunch parties in New York.  I never turn down an opportunity to dress up (or bottomless mimosas!) and saw it as a perfect opportunity to break out my favorite dress.  

This dress was a total steal.  I saw it in the window of a boutique I'd never been in and tried it on on a whim.  It's now my go to dress for events and it was $60!  Amazing.  All of my friends have seen this dress multiple times since I've worn it to many work functions and weddings.  I do get the occasional odd question from someone wanting to know if I'm wearing something under the blue lace...

Anyway, I also love these shoes (another sale find!), especially the back.  It's great how they tone down the sweetness of the dress.
