Broken Computers....

I think I'm officially bad news for computers.  I've issues with two computers over the past two weeks.  I had to send one back to the manufacturer last week and today I learned I had a virus on my backup computer and will have to wipe that computer clean.  Needless to say, there will be no posts this week while I fix my computers...  Here's to hoping for better luck this week! :)

Have a great week everyone and I will try post again on next Monday (fingers crossed)!

My Mom's Necklace

Jacket: Aqua, old
Top: Loft, old
Jeans: Rich & Skinny via Nordstrom Rack
Necklace: J.Crew, similar
Shoes: Jean-Michel Cazabat, (CRAZY SALE!)

Happy Friday!!  I hope everyone had a great week!  I've been traveling a lot this week for work.  Luckily, I was in Denver and was able to grab dinner with my best friend from pre-school.  It is crazy that we've know each other so long (no need to put a number on the years...).  I know I can always count on her to pick an amazing restaurant, and yesterday was no different.  We went to Beast and the Bottle, which was delicious!  You have to try it if you are ever in Denver!

Anyway, I've been rocking the distressed denim non-stop since I first got these jeans a few weeks ago.  This was for a dinner with friends right before I left.  This necklace is actually my Mom's (a gift from Dad), but I love it so much I borrow it quite a bit!  Lucky for me, Dad picked well.

Have a great weekend!

What I Want Wednesday... From the Nordstrom Sale

1/2/3/4/5/6/7/8/9

I don't know about you, but I love a good sale.  I'm very proud that there are few items in my closet that I've paid full price for.  And the months leading up to Christmas (isn't is crazy that Christmas starts at Halloween now?!) are filled with great sales.  I always have to remind myself to save some money for the AMAZING January sales.

Anyway, while I love the clothes and amazing service at Nordstrom, I only find myself really shopping there during the sales, one of which is going on now.  Since I started this blog, I've realized how many neutrals I wear (and how many short-sleeve tops I have!), and am trying to branch out into more color.

I didn't get too far outside of my comfort zone, but I love this green blazer (7) as a great way to liven up my black and whites and how fun is this party dress (5)?   Even though I said I'm trying to move away from neutrals I'm still falling hard for every leather item I see!  I couldn't resist this skirt (8), with its great leather detailing at the waist (and amazing price of $39!) or these jeans with a leather tuxedo stripe (9).

What are some of your favorite items from the sale?

Indian Summer

Top: Target
Jeans: Rich and Skinny via Nordstrom Rack
Shoes: Zara, old; similar
Earrings: Banana Republic, old
Bracelets: Bauble Bar (here, here)

I hope everyone had a great weekend!  Mine was very relaxing.  Other than errands, I also had a celebration dinner with a friend who got a great new job on the West Coast.  Yesterday was beautiful here, almost 70 degrees, so I had to break out a short sleeve top one last time before the colder weather comes back.  I love the cream detailing on this top and the baseball-like sleeves (which also minimize my broad shoulders).  You also can't beat the price!

I also love these red Zara shoes.  I picked them up in Italy this summer after lusting over these Jenni Kayne flats, which are just little more expensive than the Zara ones. :)  I generally will buy a more inexpensive version of a trend to try it out, before investing in a more expensive version.  Happily my feet are very happy with the cheap version here!

Daytime Leather

Jacket: Gap, old, similar
Turtleneck: J. Crew, old, similar (Get 25% off $100+ code:GOSHOP)
Dress: Jack
Necklace: Boutique find
Tights: Hue
Booties: Rag and Bone

Happy Friday!

As you may know, I've been on a little bit of a leather kick this season, starting with an amazing leather skirt and moving into this dress.  I've also got my eye on a few other pieces (see here) and it seems like I've hardly met a leather piece I didn't like!

However, as much as I love leather, I've noticed that I tend to save it for dressier occasions.  I've worn this dress out to nicer dinners with friends and for an occasional girls night out, but I realized I loved it too much to let it sit around waiting for an occasion.  With temps dipping a little in Atlanta (and me always being cold!), I figured it was the perfect day to break out this dress.  I dressed it down a little with denim and a black turtleneck (and my new favorite booties!) for a day of errand running.  While it may have been a little early for the turtleneck, this is destined to be one of go-to outfits once it gets a little colder.

Have a great weekend!

What I Want... Current Cravings

1/2/3/4/5/6/7

On the upsides of having my blog is pulling together these lists!  I've always loved online shopping, but now I can justify it as blog research, lol.

Now that fall has officially come to Atlanta (I had to break out my fall jacket today :/ ), I've been looking at great transition pieces to take my take my wardrobe into the colder weather.  This J. Crew shirt, a great pop of color, is a much needed long-sleeve shirt.  I realized I have a ton of sleeveless shirts which isn't going to do me any good now that it is colder.  This Theory sweater, while pricey, is also perfect for me since I'm always cold.  It is such a versatile piece that can go to work over a skirt or pants and look just as good on the weekend with jeans and booties.  I would also probably just curl up in it!

I'm also always looking for fun accessories that can stand out against my basics.  I love these earrings (maybe not for work), but as an inexpensive way to dress up my weekend outfits.  Same for this ring!  You might see it in a few outfit posts soon....

What are you craving for fall?

Black and Red

Top: Diane von Furstenburg, old, similar
Jeans: Rag and Bone
Clutch: Marc by Marc Jacobs, old
Shoes: Jean-Michel Cazabat, old, similar
Bracelets: Bauble Bar

I hope everyone had a great weekend!  I had a chance to catch up with a friend I hadn't seen in a while over dinner which was wonderful.  My friend is very stylish, so I figured it was the perfect time to break out one of my favorite pairs of shoes.  Do you every start with the shoes and then work upwards when building an outfit?  I do it more often that I would like admit, lol!  These pumps are so stylish, but understated, which I love.  Also, how cute are the little hearts that help hold the shape?!

I also broke out my new favorite jeans on Saturday night that I picked up during the Saks Friends and Family sale.  They are my first pair of black jeans and so flattering!  I  imagine they will be like an old friend very soon, always there and always comfortable, even though you may not see each other every day or week.

Have a great start to the week!

Distressed Denim

Blazer: Theory, old
Top: Loft, old
Jeans: Rich and Skinny via Nordstrom Rack
Purse: Marc Jacobs, old
Jewelry: Boutique finds and Bauble Bar

Happy Friday!  I hope you guys have fun plans for the weekend.

Since Fridays are a little more laid back and my work is very casual right now, I decided it was the perfect time to break out my new distressed jeans.  I've wanted to try the distressed denim look for a while, but I wasn't willing to invest in a pricey pair since I wasn't sure how often I would wear them.  Thank goodness for places like Nordstrom Rack!  I wandered in for something else and happened to see these jeans, which fit perfectly (and we all know how difficult it can be to get the right fit!).  The price was right too!

I dressed the jeans up with a great blazer and statement jewelry and I love the mix of the dressier blazer and heels against the more casual jeans.  I might wear these jeans all weekend!
