What I Want ... Leather

1/2/3/4/5/6/7

I don't know about you, but I've gone a little leather crazy this fall.  After years of relying on my favorite leather hoodie from Old Navy (which I tracked down on super sale), I've found myself wanting all kinds of leather items.  It all started with the Banana Republic version of 6 (now sold out :( ), which was quickly followed by this dress, and some great booties.  I've pulled together a few of my favorites pieces that I'm trying to resist (but we all know how that ends...).

I love how the leather piping on this skirt makes it slightly edgy, but still work appropriate and with the right top can easily move to after-work drinks.  I'm more of a pants person, so these are obviously high on my list, with their great leather waistband and relaxed fit.  And for those of you that prefer vegan leather, this skirt (5) is so flirty and cute and this Old Navy jacket is a steal at $55(!!).

My friend cracking me up over the chicken and waffles

Jacket - Burberry
Earrings - Banana Republic, old
Necklaces - boutique finds

I hope you had a great weekend!  On Saturday, my friend and I went to one of my favorite foodie events, Taste of Atlanta.  Taste is great event in which lots of top local restaurants make tastes of their signature dishes.  It is a great place to try new restaurants that aren't in your normal rotation.

My friend and I had our share of good food....  The clear favorite was Bourbon Caramel Praline Ice Cream (so good we had seconds!) from High Road Craft Ice Cream and the Steak and Corn pictured above from BLT Steak.  The chicken and waffles on a stick was definitely the most interesting dish of the day...  It is a chicken breast on a stick, wrapped in bacon, dipped in waffle batter and deep fried.  It was much better than I thought it would be and a fun original dish.

As you can see from the picture, fall has finally come to Atlanta, so this Burberry jacket, a Saks Friends and Family score(!), was perfect to keep me warm at this awesome event.  I can't wait to go back next year!

Black And White Again....

Blazer - Theory via TJ Maxx(other colors), similiar
Dress - Diane von Furstenberg
Pumps - Jimmy Choo
Necklace - boutique find

Here I am again in black and white...  It's funny, but before I started this blog, I thought I wore a lot more color.  I will definitely have to work color into my outfits.
Do you ever have those days when you need to find something business formal, but still stylish for a meeting?  I had a big meeting with a very fashionable client and I needed to convey my expertise but not distract from my message (and still fit in with all of the stylish clients!).  I know I've said it before, but I love the simplicity of black and white for times like this.  This dress was an amazing sale find and it is my go-to meeting dress when I want to feel confident and stylish. I topped it off with my favorite power heels and a fun statement necklace for an added dose of style (and confidence...).  The meeting went well so my preparation (and great outfit!) must have paid off!

What I Want - Fall Coats

1/2/3/4/5/6

Happy Hump Day!

Now that the weather is starting to get colder and the leaves are just beginning to turn (key word: starting!), I've been thinking a lot about my coat wardrobe.  Here in Atlanta,  coats are more decorative than necessary for warmth, especially since I spent a few years in Chicago.  Nothing compares to that cold!  My go-to J.Crew black coat has seen its last days after serving me well for 7 winters (I wear things I love to death!) and it is time for a replacement.  I can't decide if I want color (like 3, with a super-cute bow detailing or 5, which is under $100!) or a white coat since I don't have to worry about dirty winter slush anymore.  I'm also loving fur, so I might just have to get this great vest also!  Decisions, decisions....

White After Labor Day

Sweater - Ann Taylor Loft, old
Top - Banana Republic, old
Skirt - J. Crew
Shoes - Brian Atwood, old
Purse - Rebecca Minkoff, old
Jewelry - C. Wonder, Bauble Bar (necklace (on sale!), bracelets: 1, 2(similar), 3)

It is starting to get colder here in Atlanta, but I'm trying to hold onto summer as much as I can.  Enter this winter white skirt.  Forget not wearing white after Labor Day!  That definitely doesn't apply here when it is still in the 70s in October.  I saw this skirt online at J.Crew and on two of my favorite bloggers, Jacey from Damsel in Dior and Julia from Gal Meets Glam.  I finally tracked it down during a girls trip to D.C since it was sold out online at the time (it is now back in stock!).  That persistence really pays off!  I normally wait until something goes on sale, but I caved on this one.  So glad I did!

Casual Friday

Shirt - Loft
Belt - Loft
Jeans - old
Shoes - Christian Louboutin, old

Happy Friday!  If you are like me, I know you are ready for the weekend.   It has been a long week...  On days like today, I just want to throw on something comfortable.  Enter this shirt.  This shirt has become one of my favorite pieces of the season and is quickly becoming one of my go-to pieces.  It is so comfortable and easy way to look polished.  Did I mention it is also machine washable?  A bonus as I hate it when what I want to wear is at the dry cleaner. :)

I'm looking forward to catching up with friends and getting outside to enjoy some of this beautiful weather.  What are you up to this weekend?

Going Out After Work!

Dress: Prabal Gurung for Target
Shoes: Zara
Earrings: Boutique find
Bracelets: Bauble Bar

Happy Hump Day!

When I found out that one of my favorite local bloggers was hosting an event at the Rebecca Taylor store, I initially struggled with finding the right outfit that would be appropriate for work and for the party.  After over-thinking it (which I often do...), I grabbed one of my favorite dresses.  For me, a dress is generally one of the best options if I have plans after work as I don't look overdressed, just nice.  I love the floral print of this dress and never miss a chance to wear my blue suede shoes :).  I normally keep my make-up neutral at work, but I added the burgundy lip after work.  It is one of my favorite looks for fall and an easy way to amp up any work look.

What I Want Monday

1/2/3/4/5/6/7

I hope everyone had a great weekend!

I always used to l love back to school season because it meant back to school shopping! :)  Even though, I've outgrown school, I still like to pull together a shopping list at the beginning of each season to focus my shopping.  Since I work in an office, my pieces have to be able to pull double duty from the office to after-work fun.  I would wear 245, and 6 to work and then lose the jacket and add some fun bracelets and statement earrings to meet friends after work.  Black pants or a skirt would work just as well in more formal environment.

P.S.  Pulling these lists together is dangerous!  I've already caved and purchased a few pieces from the list, which I look forward to sharing with you guys!

Take me out to the ball game

Top - Diane von Furstenburg via TJ Maxx
Bag - Marc Jacobs via Nordstrom Rack
Shoes - Brian Atwood (other colors)
Jewelry - Bracelets from BaubleBar (here, here, similar) and boutique find
Necklaces - boutique finds

Don't you love it when you find an item you missed out on at a discount retailer like TJ Maxx or Nordstrom Rack at a great price?!  That was the case with this baseball tee.  I saw it on sale at Neiman Marcus, but of course they didn't have my size.  You can imagine how excited I was when I found it at TJ Maxx (and for less than the sale prices at Neimans!).  Pink is one of my favorite colors and I love the loose cut that makes it appropriate for work (seen here for casual Friday) and play.

I love fun jewelry and these bracelets are no exception.  I don't remember how I discovered BaubleBar, but their pieces are so fun and very easy on the wallet.  They are having their Friends and Family sale thru Sunday, so head over to check it out.  I think I'm going to get this, this, and this.

Welcome! + Black and White Chic

Jacket and Pants - Theory
Top - Banana Republic
Shoes - Jimmy Choo
Bag - Marc Jacobs
Necklace - local boutique find

Hi and welcome to my blog!  I love fashion and trying to incorporate a little fun into my work wardrobe.  In this case, it is the necklace and shoes (my weakness...).  I love the simplicity of black and white, which lets the accessories be the standout pieces.  My mom actually found this necklace, which has become one of my favorite pieces.  I get so many compliments on it and it is a great pop to a simple outfit.  The shoes were a birthday present (to myself!) and add a little work appropriate edge to the outfit.

Thanks for stopping by my blog!
